Humorous Incidents of the Civil War & The Camp Jester $12.52 softcover/1.25 in PDF
Even the horrors of war can produce some of the funniest of circumstances. The two-book combination has "Humorous Incidents of the Civil War," by A. C. McLeary - a humorous take on the War Between the States - and the second work, "The Camp Jester," was published in 1864 for the benefit of the soldiers in camp. Both are full of humorous anecdotes and jokes from the period.

Slavery and Abolition as Viewed by a Georgia Slave $9.82 softback/1.25 in PDF
The title says it all: Slavery and Abolitionism as Viewed by a Georgia Slave. This book, had it come 10 years sooner than it did, might have had a very significant impact on the abolition debate. Coming as it did on the eve of the War Between the States, had little to no impact on the issue in Harrison Berry's day, nor did it prevent any bloodshed. This book is offered as a counterpoint to those who hate the Battle Flag and the South that it stands for because they think it is "a racist flag." It is presented to the reader because it shows that this issue, so much a sticking point today 140 years after the 13th Ammendment, is not, as they say, all "black and white."
